The Homebody Who Should Have Stayed Home

As a follow up to my last post, I thought i'd share a little bit about how First Friday went.
it was awful.
haha! i know, i know, le pessimist. (i made that french/english word up) but i'm totally serious. It was terrible for me at least, im sure everyone else had a good time but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Hot. Loud music. Barely dressed teenagers. a thick cloud of cigarette smoke. Obscene language on everyone's t-shirts.... I wanted to run back to my safe, quiet home and knit with my baby Evelyn leaning her head on my shoulders. But alas, running wasn't an option with the bout of nausea and intense headache that overcame me. So my sweet hubby took his faint old lady home where I immediately took a shower to wash all the jagged energy down the drain. I'm so lame. oh well, i managed to sell one item before i packed everything right back up and went home. So there is my little 'First Friday' story that i like to call, "The Homebody Who Should Have Stayed Home" (hence the title ;)

Moving on... I thought i'd share with y'all a little embroidery I did last week.

It is an original design and i was thinking of selling it in my Etsy shop as part of a 'palm reader' embroidery series. I was thinking that the other embroideries would have the same layout, but i'd use different words/symbols throughout. For example, 'Fame/Fortune' with a sun symbol. Maybe with the chevron fingerprint, idk. Obviously my shop is jewelry oriented, so i'm not sure if it would be too random to add an embroidery series, or if a little diversity is ok.
What do you think?

  1. I would have hated such an event as well! Doesn't make you lame, not everything's for everybody, right?
That embroidery is very nice. But I wouldn't know if you should sell it alongside your jewelry, I've been thinking about that myself and can't figure it out.

  3. I'm such a lame, homebody too, and I love it! I probably would have left with you.

I love the embroidery!! Have you looked at some of the other shops that sell embroidery? See if there are some that have a successful, diverse shop. Maybe see how they're presented and get some inspiration. Either way, I love it and hope you list them. :)

  4. Well, if not hanging out with the out crowd is lame, park me in the lame lane! It sounds so much like Prom. Yes, the high school prom and I assure you I know: I'm a high school teacher in charge of prom. So, you see, you are grown up. Good luck with the embroidery, whatever you decide!
